The chains signify her entanglement between the two worlds, as her mother, Demeter, and husband, Hades, had to come to an agreement. Persephone was made to spend 6 months in the underworld, and 6 months on Olympus with her mom. The blue crystal is Persephone thethered and stuck between the two worlds.
